Who We Are
Independent Pathways Care was founded with a clear purpose: to provide specialist supported living services that genuinely make a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
Our founders come from frontline care backgrounds. Having spent years working directly with individuals with complex needs, they saw first-hand the gap between what people deserved and what was often available. Independent Pathways Care was created to close that gap — delivering consistent, high-quality support that treats every person as an individual, not a case number.
Today we provide long-term support packages ranging from 4 hours a day to 24/7 care, with 1:1 or higher staffing ratios, helping individuals live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes and communities.
Our Mission & Vision
Our Mission
To empower adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs to live independently while receiving the support they need in a safe and respectful environment. Every decision we make is guided by the wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support.
Our Vision
To be a trusted, specialist supported living provider recognised for the quality of our care, the expertise of our team, and the lasting, positive difference we make in the lives of the individuals, families, and communities we serve.
Our Values
Everything we do is guided by a set of core values that define who we are and how we deliver care.
Safe
The safety and wellbeing of every individual is our absolute priority. We maintain robust safeguarding practices, thorough risk assessments, and a culture where every team member is vigilant, trained, and accountable.
Person-Centred
No two people are the same. We build every support plan around the individual — their goals, preferences, strengths, and aspirations — and we involve them and their families in every decision.
Independence
Our purpose is to help people do more for themselves, not to create dependency. We support individuals to develop skills, build confidence, and take control of their own lives.
Our Approach
At Independent Pathways Care, we take the time to understand each individual's history, needs, strengths, and aspirations before creating a bespoke support plan. Our approach is built on four pillars:
- Person-centred care — Every support plan is designed around the individual, not the service. We listen, we involve, and we adapt as needs change.
- Promoting independence — We don't do things for people that they can learn to do for themselves. Our goal is always to help individuals build skills, gain confidence, and take greater control of their lives.
- Safeguarding — Protecting vulnerable adults is woven into everything we do. Our staff are trained in safeguarding, risk management, and de-escalation, and we maintain a zero-tolerance culture towards abuse and neglect.
- Tailored care plans — Support plans are developed in partnership with the individual, their family, social workers, and commissioners. They are regularly reviewed, outcome-focused, and adapted to reflect real progress.
We are committed to positive behaviour support, trauma-informed practice, and working collaboratively with families and professionals to deliver the best possible outcomes.
